About Ryan

It’s no surprise that B-105 late-night DJ Ryan Jacobs loves country music. “In every song you can find something that relates to your life,” he says, “and it reminds me why I love living in the U.S.—it’s America’s music.”But it may surprise you to know that this country music super-fan almost missed out on a chance to hang with Dierks Bentley—all because he didn’t recognize him.

“When I was in tech school for the Air Force this guy came into the dining facility wearing street clothes, which you’re allowed to do after duty hours. But I couldn’t understand why people were taking photos of him and having him sign things. I asked someone what was going on, and she said, ‘You don’t know who that is?’ I said I didn’t have a clue, and she informed me that it was Dierks Bentley. I immediately jumped in line to meet him. We ended up talking for a good 10 minutes. And of course I got a photo.”

Ryan is a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and recently returned from a deployment to the Middle East. When he’s not on duty, you can find him hanging out with his four daughters—Isabella, Callie, Marissa and Gia—and his wife, Tiffany. Ryan loves playing sports, eating Gold Star, watching the Reds or Bengals and roller skating. In fact, that’s how Ryan got his start DJing.

“I started working in the music booth at my family’s roller-skating rink when I was 10 years old. I loved it so much, I haven’t stopped since.”
